Sosnowiec

Juliusz district in my photos

Juliusz - a colony located in the former hamlet of Por±bka, which, however, only developed in the years 1902-1914, when the Warsaw Society of Coal Mines and Metallurgical Works (already owning the Kazimierz mine) opened a new Juliusz mine (operated only from 1914 ) with two shafts. Soon the Kazimierz and Juliusz mines were merged in 1938. However, a separate colony, Juliusz, was created, which is separated from Por±bka by the Bobrek bed. With time, the colony was administratively tied to Kazimierz, it became part of it as a town, but in 1975 it was attached to Sosnowiec together with Kazimierz Górniczy. Currently, Julliusz belongs to the Por±bka district.
